At Rain Shadow, Safety First is one of our core values. Safety is ingrained in everything we do from the time we arrive at the shop in the morning to the time we go home at the end of the day.
Our crews start their day at the shop with a comprehensive assessment of equipment and tools to ensure they are in safe working order. Once at the job site, the crews perform a Job Safety Assessment to identify potential hazards and develop risk mitigation strategies. While on the job, crews follow industry standards to ensure work is performed in the safest manner possible. At the end of the day, crews debrief to address any safety concerns and discuss best practices.
To guarantee our team meets our standards of safety and job proficiency, we hold a monthly all-staff training day, where employees receive training on equipment and tools and review the latest safety protocols from industry organizations. In addition to our monthly training day, we provide yearly certifications, including:
- CPR and First Aid (Led by Orcas Island Fire and Rescue)
- TCIA Electrical Hazards Awareness Program Certification
- Aerial Rescue Training (Led by Ascension Group Northwest)
- Washington State Flagger Certification (Evergreen Safety Council)
Furthermore, we offer access to specialized training and certifications from accredited organizations, including the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) and the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA).
