Upcoming Workshops and Other Resources for San Juan County Forest Owners from NNRG
With the help of Rain Shadow staff, our friends and partners from the Northwest Natural Resources Group (NNRG) will be offering several webinars and workshops related to forest health and climate resilience for San Juans forests in September and October. These include:
- Biochar for Increasing Forest Resilience and Carbon Storage (virtual Fireside Chat) on September 14th, 7:30-8:30pm via Zoom
- Hands-On Forest Heath Strategies for San Juan County (in-person workshop on Lopez Island) on September 17th, 2022, 9:30am-3:30pm
- Increasing Fire Resilience in the San Juan Islands (virtual Fireside Chat) on September 21st, 7:30-8:30pm via Zoom
- How to Steward a Climate-Resilient Forest in the San Juans (in-person workshop on Shaw Island) on October 15th, 2022, 9:30am-3:30pm
In addition, NNRG offers a variety of support for landowners, including free phone consultations and site visits with NNRG’s Director of Forestry Kirk Hansen, Rain Shadow’s Director Carson Sprenger, and the San Juan Islands Conservation District‘s Forest Health Manager Kai Hoffman-Krull. NNRG’s website also includes a wealth of resources for forest owners.
