Safety and Training
All Rain Shadow employees receive extensive training for each piece of equipment they operate and are certified to exceed industry standards.
Safety and Professionalism are core values at Rain Shadow and safety is our #1 priority.
All Rain Shadow employees receive extensive on-the-job training for each piece of equipment they operate. Utilizing in-house supervision, employees are encouraged to familiarize themselves with all machines used on-site from pole pruners to chainsaws, stump grinders, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Rain Shadow employees are reviewed annually on climbing techniques and are certified to exceed industry standards. Our annual safety training includes aerial rescue, electrical hazard awareness training (EHAT) and certification, rope and rigging techniques, general climbing safety, and first aid and CPR. Our on-site forepersons are advanced-level climbers who conduct monthly on-the-job assessments on aerial rescue practice as part of their job responsibilities. Employees have up-to-date flagger cards and our drivers carry a CDL (commercial driver’s license) when necessary.
In addition to annual training, in 2019 Rain Shadow brought in North American Training Solutions to perform an intensive two-day training module focused on electrical hazard awareness and aerial rescue training.
