Serving the San Juan Islands with all manner of wood products—from lumber and custom slab wood to chips to premium firewood and fenceposts—all from recycled, reclaimed, reused, and sustainable sources.

Orcas Biomass, established in 2019, is Rain Shadow Consulting’s “sister company” and will serve Orcas Island and the San Juans by storing, processing, and distributing all forms of woody biomass and some forms of green waste. Our processing includes chipping, grinding, composting, milling. Our distribution will ultimately include commercial and retail space for the sale of compost, woody mulch, chips, and lumber and slab wood from salvaged logs. Orcas Biomass also leases yard and shop space on Orcas Road (next to the Exchange) to Rain Shadow Consulting and can offer on-site milling with our portable Wood-Mizer sawmill.
